STUDENT SUCCESS STORY
Adam’s P4 Math & Science story
Primary 4 · Math & Science
Adam improved by two grades as he became more engaged in lessons.
Adam, now in Primary 4, improved his results by two grades. His dad, Taufiq, also noticed that Adam paid more attention in class and could do the assigned work afterwards. Earlier, assessment work often lost Adam’s interest. The family tried Ottodot’s online Math and Science tuition because Adam already liked games and they wanted him to stay engaged while learning. During one filmed activity, Adam even guided his dad through an angles game.
01 / THE STARTING POINT
What felt difficult
Taufiq had seen how quickly Adam’s attention could drift when study meant more assessment work. Adam liked games, but the family still wanted proper teaching and a way to tell whether he understood the lesson. Adam recalled a friend’s reaction to tuition: “My friend wanted to run away from tuition.”
For his dad, the work after class mattered. If Adam could do it, that would show he had listened and followed what the teacher taught.
02 / THE LEARNING JOURNEY
Finding a way forward
The live lesson gave Adam a teacher to learn from, and the guided games gave him a reason to practise. His dad noticed him paying attention. Afterwards, Adam could complete the assigned work, which reassured him that Adam had followed the class.
In a filmed Math activity, Adam took the lead. He walked his dad through an angles game, explaining what to do as they played.
03 / THE PROGRESS
What changed along the way
Adam’s dad says he pays more attention now and can finish the work set after class. Adam also talked his dad through the Math game during filming. His results improved by two grades.
