From tears during Math practice to doing homework independently.
Math practice used to be a struggle for Aisyah. Her mum, Siti, often had to repeat explanations, and Aisyah sometimes became upset and refused to continue. With patient teaching in a small online class and games that made learning inviting, she now understands more, needs less prompting and is more willing to practise.

01 / THE STARTING POINT
What felt difficult
Siti wanted Aisyah to build strong Math foundations before the subject became harder. At home, practice could involve repeated explanations, confusion and tears. Aisyah might understand one question but become stuck on the next. As a parent working shifts, Siti also needed lessons that fitted her schedule and could take place at home.

Finding a way forward
The chance to learn through Roblox helped Aisyah feel excited about trying classes. Siti valued the small group and the teacher’s patience: she checked whether each child understood, asked if they needed help and waited for students before moving on. Siti felt that this individual attention helped address the parts of Math that Aisyah found difficult, even in an online setting.

What changed along the way
Siti now lets Aisyah attempt homework on her own and checks it afterwards, with only a little prompting when needed. Practice feels smoother because Aisyah understands more and recognises things she has learned before. Siti says her daughter is focused, participates in lessons and is excited for class. As her confidence grows, Aisyah is more open to studying, and Math practice creates less tension at home.
“Previously, getting her to study Math was very tough. You had to repeat it so many times. But now, if she does her homework, I can let her do it on her own independently, so I just check her work after that. … She knows that she can do it now. So that’s why it’s easier to get her to study and do practice sessions.”
