Lixuan improved by 10 Science marks and began making fewer mistakes.
Lixuan, now in Primary 3, improved her Science result by 10 marks, from around 60 to around 70. Her mum, Kim, has also noticed fewer mistakes in practice papers and answers that address the question more directly. Before joining Ottodot, Lixuan told Kim she did not like Science because she struggled to understand it. The family tried Ottodot’s online Primary Science lessons, and Lixuan felt comfortable enough to continue.
01 / THE STARTING POINT
What felt difficult
Kim could see the difficulty in Lixuan’s school papers. Some answers did not quite address what the question asked, and Lixuan said she did not enjoy Science because she could not understand it well.
Kim tried to help at home. When she was unsure of an answer, she checked a textbook or another source before explaining it, but Lixuan still did not always grasp the idea. Kim wanted a teacher who could explain the concepts and help her daughter build a stronger foundation.

Finding a way forward
After the trial, Lixuan told Kim she felt comfortable in class, so they continued with Science lessons. Kim liked that a teacher explained the concepts and that Lixuan could revisit them through games.
Lixuan described answering Science questions as she played. When she got one wrong, she tried again. That practice gave her another way to work through an idea she had not understood the first time.

Kim says Lixuan now makes fewer mistakes and gives answers that fit the question better. She describes Science scores moving from around 60 to around 70, a gain of 10 marks.
