From daydreaming to taking part in Math lessons.
Kennard struggled to pay attention in class, so his teacher moved him to the front. Even there, he would still daydream. His mum, Winnie, wanted lessons that could hold his attention. Ottodot’s mix of games and teacher interaction helped him focus on learning and feel more confident answering questions.
01 / THE STARTING POINT
What felt difficult
Winnie says Kennard found it hard to pay attention in class. His teacher moved him to the front, but he would still sit and daydream. Formal lessons did not hold his interest. At home, Winnie sometimes felt he knew the answer but lacked the confidence to say it aloud, worried that he might be wrong.

Finding a way forward
Because Kennard loved Roblox, Winnie saw Ottodot as a chance for him to play and learn. After joining our trial class, he chose to continue with Ottodot. Ottodot’s custom-made Roblox games gave him a reason to engage with lessons, while teachers asked questions and called on him to answer when he stayed quiet. Winnie felt that answering from behind the camera helped him feel more confident participating.

What changed along the way
Ottodot helped Kennard focus on his lessons and take part in the learning. Winnie noticed that he could think through Math questions better and that she did not need to shout as much during practice. In one triangle-angle question, he answered her prompt about the total angle and then knew how to continue the working. She also noticed that he understood more and was more confident to speak up.
